This week, we learned two new letters, and three new sounds! Be sure to ask for both the short and the long sound of vowels at home! When practicing letter handwriting, ask for both uppercase and lowercase.
We are absolutely enthralled with our author in focus, Kevin Henkes, and have been reading many of his books. We noticed that many of his books have mice as characters, so we decided to take a closer look at each mouse and compare and contrast personality traits!
In Writing Workshop, we have been learning all about the many different places that writers get ideas! As writers, it's important for us to be able to broaden our horizons and take ideas from many different places!
Math had us up and moving this week! We learned about the order of numbers and have been working with terms such as more than/less than. We learned the word "quantity," and that it means the amount or number of something.
Our social studies unit on Our Community: Lakeview helped us to see how different lives are in our own community! When we learned that some people who are less fortunate may not have access to food, we decided to begin our own food drive for the Lakeview Food Pantry. Please help us donate for a great cause!
